Poste Italiane paid tribute to Giovanni da Verrazzano during the Verrazzano Day 2010 celebrations with a special commemorative postmark applied to postcards of the Castle, franked with the postage stamps “Accademia dei Georgofili,” issued on February 26, 1996, and “Lavoro Italiano,” issued on June 20, 1997. The first stamp honored one of the descendants of the Verrazzano family who served as president of the prestigious Accademia dei Georgofili, while the second aimed to highlight the value of Italian labor, particularly in agriculture.
